I am looking at a knife that has a Jura wood handle. What is Jura wood? I Google it and can find nothing.
Hmm. Jura region seems to be in France, not Japan. Strange for a Japanese knife.wood from Jura region? I've seen some beech and oak from there being called in that name.

SHIBATA TAKAYUKI KOTETSU R2/SG2 PETTY-UTILITY JAPANESE KNIFE 80MM WITH JURA HANDLE

Love that website.I looked in the wood database, and there is nothing listed under that name.
