I am trying to help out a Andrei Markin (Markin Knives) to purchase some Magnacut and Rex121 billets (if it's the right word). I googled some places that sell it, but I never heard of them, so I am hoping for some reliable recommendations from our community.

Thank you in Advance
Iron Lucky on Etsy (out of France) has Rex 121/stainless San Mai, pre hardened. Alpha Knife Supply carries Rex 121, Pop's Carries MagnaCut.

would love to see him getting a hold of some MagnaCut, I have a cleaver order with him in 52100 but a MagnaCut cleaver would be insane.

I would just do alpha, since you can get both from their, and save money on shipping.

I had some rex121 in a mule years ago and wasn’t a fan - strange steel

I ordered Magnacut directly from Niagara when it was first released. I think it was 36" long. Shipping wasn't cheap, but I was too impatient for it to reach retailers.
I tried that once. They canceled my order and told me it was all sold to retailers. Maybe they are back in stock…

I mean, magnacut is very easy to find at this point, its also cheaper than 4v, and vanadis 4 extra. At least that i've seen so thats a plus also.

Revive this thread because some personal interest... I might bought some MagnaCut with me going home for summer, how heavy would a 0.168" x 23.5" x 2.6" stock weigh? Would it got me in trouble in the customs?

The density of steel is about 4.55oz/cubic inch. So about 46.7oz/2.91lbs.

Get out of here with all that math nerd!

We just do knives here.

In all seriousness, isn't one of the more regular posters a legitimate mathematician? Or is that just another running gag that began before my time...?

And I thought everyone was here just to hear about @M1k3's clueless cook, and to piss off @Michi by forgetting the count....and to completely digress from the thread topic for entertainment and possibly later Trivial Pursuit purposes 😁
