You are in luck here, go to Richmond, you got peninsula and all the good stuff there.

I haven’t been there for 4 years now, but you can find a lot of stuff in Aberdeen square and surrounding areas

Not Vancouver, but if you ever find yourself in London, this is THE place for dimsum. DImsum Duck near Kings Cross. I stumbled on it by accident 10 days ago. Far better than anything I've had in Chinatown. I can safely say the best I've eaten and I've eaten dim sum in Hong Kong. Only problem is the place is tiny and there are no reservations. Worth the wait though. A fitting 7000th post.

Dynasty restaurant is a great one that we visit. $10 corkage and complimentary 2hr parking.

I had some great sushi in Vancouver several years ago. I used one of their local tourist books we bought.
We were there for the semi-finals fireworks display. Where a lot of countries compete. It is really nice.
