I like them! Especially the one with carbon bolster. Must be pita to work with though.

Thanks!

Actually it’s not too bad. Grinds easily. Very durable. But the dust gets everywhere when it’s sanded.

I once did a knife in white g10. and it was not nice. its the white one here. you get lung cancer if you breathe that crap in. (edit: it was also the last one i do in g10)

Very nice. But G10 is not the only Hazzard amongst handle materials we use. Carbon fiber can cause pulmonary fibrosis and cardiac failure. Rosewood family woods such as rosewood, ebony, cocobolo have oils that when volatilized in the dust particles are directly pulmonary toxic. Pick you poison !

That nakiri looks like a mean machine! Of course the handle material choices are great too, nice!

All synthetic fibers that are sharp and that does not degrade in human tissue will cause lung cancer. its just a matter of time/exposure. Of course something else, could, in theory kill you before this happens.
In china they make carbon fiber bike frames. A chinese carbon fiber worker has an average "lifetime" of 3 years. just saying. just dont go swimming in this sh1t.

Doing a prototype handle out of red/orange/white/black G10 in a 210mm gyuto.

you make really cool knives! where do you get all these materials?

I kinda got bit too and got myself some snake skin carbon fiber (with brass powder), but unfortunately i could only get hold of 1 single piece of 40x120mm 5mm thick. so i cut it up in 2 20mm pieces to make some inserts/sides on a wood handle.

I get material from dozens of sources. Instagram, eBay, directly from manufacturers, local folks in Texas, knife shows. Texas knifemaker supply does lots of mailorder business. Just look around the net, join Facebook groups, etc. Google is your friend.
