Picked this up a bit ago. Stunning piece and total unicorn. Takaba don’t come up often. I tend not to hold onto knives unless I use them, and I unfortunately don’t have the counter space to destroy roasts with this bad boy! This is part of his Miyabi series with the insane Damascus. The contrast from the nickel in the cladding is the most impressive I’ve ever seen. It looks like shining pearls dancing under light.
Handle: Rosewood w/ Buffalo horn
Cladding: Hand forged Nickel-added iron laminate
Core Steel: Shirogami 1
Forge technique: Warikomi
Finish: Etched

Spine thickness: 3.9, 2.9, 1.1
(OOH, midway, 2cm from tip)
There is some light rust on the cladding near the tip, likely from an over etch. I will take some videos when I have better lighting that better details it. I will also be adding choil and spine shots.
