Hi.

I recently received this kato from a friend. He bought it from CKTG in 2013 and never used it. Alas the long time storage caused some rust. By feeling it with the finger tips it looks and feel superficial. Please see the pictures.

Also, this shape is not the standard one we are all familiar with. I believe it was a custom order. It is though definitely a workhorse.

Here some specs
47.8 height

5.2 width out of the handle

I am asking 1000USD. I am in Australia. We talk privately about shipping, depending on where you are from.

Any chance of a shot of the spine and choil? Don't see this gen Kato very often

I like the look of this knife. Do we know what steel was used back then?

Thank you Matteo. I really thought I priced this knife very well. No interest whatsoever. Considering how much money I have seen them going for....

I'm good with Kato but maybe people aren't sure what a "custom" from 2013 means?

If you are short of money, I would trade the knife for an old Konosuke Fujiyama.

Bump.

What I have been told is, Mark at CKTG ordered this knife for a customer, with customer's specifications. The customer who ordered it ended up not buying it, my friend then bought it. It was in 2013.
