I'll never say this other than now: I'm glad his knife was dull.

Yeah, the legal department MUST be the reason chefs on tv don't do that.

Dang, I have been doing it wrong all this time. Might have to pull out the chain mail cut glove to try this one.

That is how they do it in a great number of areas of the world. My wife calls it the El Salvadorian onion chop

I'd like to know how he got away with the Johnny Cash soundtrack?

Good lord... it also took him a full minute to unevenly chop a single onion -- not sure if this qualifies him for the "Worlds Greatest".

That's what I was thinking, I can chop an onion in more uniform pieces in less time than that! Madly hacking is not always fastest!

What's up with all these shaving videos? Are people supposed to be impressed? If that's the case I would like to see someone shave with a hockeystick while standing on one arm... on the back of a horse(that would impress me atleast!) :)

My take on it is that maybe we're supposed to be impressed that they can actually sharpen a knife good enough to shave with? :D

Wow. From the same series: "How to Sharpen a Knife."

I am new to sharpening freehand, but this technique doesn't resemble what I've seen on the JKI website.

Did this woman just save me from wasting a few hundred dollars on a private lesson with Jon? ;)

I was just about to post that video. "I sharpen my knives every day." At least we can all relate to that :rofl2:
