You'd have to ask them; Kurosaki does have different lines at different price levels. But that being said, it wouldn't be the first time a web-shop is significantly out of line when it comes to pricing.

Yu Kurosaki R2 Senko Gyuto 210mm $260

https://www.**************.com/kurosaki4.html $270

Yu Kurosaki Senko R2/SG2 Hammered Gyuto Japanese Knife 210mm Shitan Handle $477

Looking at this knife. 210mm. You can find it with what appears to be the same handle for $260-$270 at a number of sites and with an Oak handle for about the same amount (Hocho Knife). Then there is the knife at Japanny.com for $477?

Any difference or just a web vendor way out of the market?

Your Japanny link comes up at $329 for me. Usually it’s easy to get 10% off there, bringing their price to about $300. But then they charge shipping so that adds back a bit.

For knives that are frequently OOS like Kurosaki you can’t really compare a sold out price to an in-stock price. The OOS price is an old price that doesn’t reflect price increases the vendor might apply once they get some back in stock. Kurosaki (like many others) has steadily climbed in price all year. IIRC they used to be closer to $200 than $300.

It’s showing $329 for me as well. Japanny’s prices tend to be on the higher side.

Checking on the cache history the price was always at $329 and they also sell it at their US shop Seisuke Knife for $10 more
