    Hi,

Just got a ZK santoku Damascus. But when I cut, I feel like the damascus is dragging so that sometimes it is sticking to the meterial I cut (potatoes, etc). Anybody here got the same experience?

    Thanks

Not a santoku, but I had a 10" chef's that had the same feeling when cutting anything thicker than ½".

I had one and kinda noticed the "drag" when cutting thru thicker things, although softer stuff such as a handful of spinach or thinner things weren't noticeable. I thought I read somewhere that although this type of finish causes some drag it reduces stiction? I recently sold it on BST to another member here, this wasn't why, I still have the ZK Damascus parer. I just never really got into using it and am not the biggest santoku fan, also started to appreciate the more authentic/artisan Japanese knives.
