Konosuke Fujiyama 330 Yanagiba Blue #1/Ebony

It's entirely possible that I am inept, but I can't figure out how to mark the thread as "sold".... Anybody know how I do that?

Konosuke Fujiyama 330 Yanagiba Blue #1/Ebony

Hi all, I haven't been around the forum for some time as kids and work have taken over the last few years. I've lately been trying to divest myself of things I don't need and would be better enjoyed by others. As such, I have on offer this Konosuke Fujiyama 330 Yanagiba in Blue #1 with a...

Hmm, very nice! Might have to add that as a contender. Oh and hello fellow Calgarian! This rain can take a hike!

    Looking for something specific

Hi all, haven't posted in a couple years :O busy with kids and all that... Anyway, time for a new Gyuto! I'm looking for one with fairly specific properties though: -Less than $500 (the lower the better obviously) -240 for length -Has to be carbon. Not too picky on white vs blue vs V2...

Best Chef Knife for around $300-$350

Good call on the length. I recently got a 330 as my first Yanagiba which I feared might be a bit unwieldy. Doesn't seem rediculous at all when only using it to slice. It was hard at first to learn to relax my wrist and just let the weight of the knife do the cutting. Yanagibas are way too...

Me either. Just falls through whatever I try to cut. Thin behind the edge with a very subtle convex.

Handle material - What do you prefer

My sentiments exactly. Ho with a marble bolster is my cup of tea. Though I do think ebony is nice on a Yanagiba. Classes it up a bit. Funny, because I have a bunch of stabilized maple burl waiting to go on some hunting/bush knives, but I just don't like it on kitchen knives.

    looking for first laser gyuto

Yep, Masamoto is the odd one out profile wise. Much flatter with a lower tip. Much more like a sabatier but maybe even a bit flatter. Spine on mine is fully rounded though not the choil for some reason. Though it is relieved a bit. Don't own any of the others but I have used a Konosuke...

    Returns

Forgot to put the winky on the end ;-) My father in law has a spray in bed liner in the box of his Nissan Titan so the metal doesn't get scratched, but he then has a carpet in there so the spray in Bed liner doesn't get scuffed, but then you have to be careful not to put anything in there...

    Startling Stuff

Like Burke says, your kids won't get hooked on junk if they don't have access to it. It's all about what you habituate yourself and your kids to. If you're used to burgers and cheese fries your probably not going to dig a spinach salad. Of course the opposite is also true, I hate that greasy...

Better start putting a poly board on top. Gotta protect your investment.

    Startling Stuff

It's happening in Canada too. The problem is education. Children are taught what to eat by their parents so guess what obese parents are teaching their children to eat? A friend of mine doesn't like vegetables (don't ask) so guess what his three year old won't eat? While I'm having trouble...
