    Anybody used Dalstrong?

Coincidentally, I think my Mom (still not sure who yet), sent me an 8" Frostfire series today. I was pretty bewildered, and came here to see if anybody has heard of them. I just got a Takamura the other day, and I'm trying to amass better quality knives, so i'm not sure yet if I'm going to...

That helps greatly, and I'm probably going to read this 50 times in the coming weeks.

Alternatives to KUROSAKI SG2 SHIZUKU GYUTO 180MM

Will not cheap out on those, absolutely not. It's already going to be a steep learning curve from the videos I'm watching, I don't want to have to worry about poor manufacturing in the equation. I'm guessing Sharpton is a legit brand since one of you guys recommended it?

Alternatives to KUROSAKI SG2 SHIZUKU GYUTO 180MM

Ok, thanks for clarifying. I knew this wasn't going to be a walk in the park, and I have nothing to compare it to, so here goes :)

Alternatives to KUROSAKI SG2 SHIZUKU GYUTO 180MM

While I just ordered a Takamura Migaki, could you expand on that comment so I can look in another direction and start planning some more purchases? I'm going to replace an entire set here, and I have no problem with trying and owning several knives. I am going to deep dive into the sharpening...

Hello everyone, I'm looking for the knife stated in the title, but found this particular knife is out of stock everywhere. So any alternatives you would recommend? This is my first quality kitchen knife purchase, I'm suffering with a 12 year old set of crappy 316L knives right now if that's any...

    Help Identifying Inherited Knives

Thank you very much for the guidance. I've got some Flitz for my guitar frets. When you say frown, that's uneven wear across the edge of the blade right?

    Help Identifying Inherited Knives

Nice info! I searched Joyaux, which is probably why I didn't find anything. I took the Chatellerault as the city it was made and didn't think to search that. Pretty cool. Is there any specific methods I can use to clean them up? And also recondition the blades? I have no experience with...

    Help Identifying Inherited Knives

Hello everyone, this is my first post here. I was passed down these three knives. I know my great grandfather used them, and gave them to my grandmother who I assume brought them over here from France back in the 1950's. Did some googling but couldn't find anything about who made them (other...
