Hi.
I wondered if any one have suggestions for a decent but reasonably priced traditional usuba? New or used, but preferably over 8 inches. I don't care how it looks or what shape it's in as long as it can take a good edge and doesn't need a lot of reshaping.

I'm just going to use it until I get my ass to Japan to spend some serious money on knives, which will hopefully happen some time around the end of 2014.
My nakiri just won't cut it anymore.
Price range $100-300.

I've been quite happy with my white steel Tad. Could spend more but my skills (or lack of) don't warrant it. If you're stateside a call to Jon would be time well spent.

Thanks! Not US based unfortunately.
Haven't found any European equivalents to JKI yet.

Do you have any more info on the knife you mention? White steel sounda great.

I recalled that Jon fixed Tad usuba for you very nicely, daveb.
