Hate to do this, but selling the Heiji custom carbon I bought from Labor of Love. He did a great job designing this one. The profile is great and the shinogi line is much higher than is usual for Heiji. Because of this the knife cuts very differently from the other Heiji knives I've tried, in my opinion it is an improvement to the usual Heiji. The knife is a large 240 or short 270 at 262x53 with a ruler. The balance is very nice and to me it feels like a much smaller knife somehow. It comes with a saya, that is supposed to be friction fit, but it is pretty loose, I was going to drill a pin hole in it, but won't now. I can include an extra pin if the buyer wants it. Heiji uses Iwasaki's special Swedish carbon steel, same as Shigefusa, and his heat treat is excellent.

It is in great shape, I haven't used it a whole lot, too many knives:knife:.

I paid $440 and will sell for $420 all in CONUS. No trades for this, as I need to pay for other purchases.

Have to resist since I am waiting on the last BST Mario blade I just bought.

OP, are you sure about the cutting edge length? I thought it was 250mm?

If this is true we need to talk. 8) That profile looks great and moving up the shinogi line is something I've been wanting to do with mine.

I just checked my old email corespondence w heiji. He sent me a photo of the blade with a sticky on it with my requested specs written down. 250mm x 53mm carbon steel. Might wanna remeasure the edge just to make sure.
Just wanted to also mention that the shinogi is 20mm tall on this knife, the regular height on heiji 240mm gyuto is 13mm( atleast for the several I measured).

It is definitely between 260-265, closer to 260 I think. I think I would keep it if it was 250, it is a great knife.

Wow, I never noticed. It’s a pretty small pointy tip, I guess it feels not as long as it actually is. You win barmoley, it’s a little over a 1/3rd of inch longer than what I thought it was 😀

No problem, it is a small difference all things considered and the point is thin. The knife balances very well and feels smaller than it is. It actually felt smaller somehow than the 240 SS Heiji I had that was 240.

I just don't want to mislead anyone that's why I want to make sure the real length is posted. I don't measure all knives but this one I happened to measure.
