I friend reached out to me yesterday and asked if I heard of forgettable.com.

Sub $100 vg10 kitchen knives forged in China.

I looked at the site and said:
1) no choil shots
2) vg10 can be good with proper heat treatment.

I figure the only way to know anything for sure is to order one and check the grinds, edge retention, and sharpenability.

Does anyone have first hand experience with these?

Edited after an autocorrect mistake was realized.

That domain does not resolve to an IP address. Can you to post a URL that works?

Hah, guess the original post was autocorrected. I was wondering about that... forgettable seems like an awful business name.
Omg, I feel silly now. Thank you

I own several of his knives. Noah(the owner) is a really nice guy. The knives are good for what they cost. He said the knives have a 58 hrc. Can't speak to the heat treat. No chips, but had a tip deform . They seem kinda soft to me. They sharpen up really easily. I have a 270 gyuto, 270 suji, and a 210 k-tip gyuto. The 270 gyuto and k-tip were prototype samples. The handles are rosewood with horn ferule.
I use the gyuto and suji at work as beaters.

So, just in case anyone is interested, here are some shots of the 270mm suji.

It is a pretty lightweight knife. Blade is nice & stiff. Takes & holds an edge pretty well. Grind is decent. Not a bad blade for $80.
