Visited Marble on the way to Crystal Mill. Picturesque little town. Should have explored it further but we were scared of driving that mountain road in the dark. Was it nice? What can you do there?
You must have a ton of awesome aerial photosCrystal Mill is (was?) the big attraction. Too, the very pure white marble used for the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and parts of Lincoln Memorial is from the Marble quarry.
The previous owners of the grass strip used to host an annual fly-in camping weekend but I'm not sure if that still happens, parts of the camping area are visible in and around the trees in the shot below.
There's also a pretty good BBQ place in town (about a mile from the strip) which is the main reason we landed there that day.
Mostly it's just a beautiful valley and a neat place to visit by airplane.
