How should I sharpen my filet knives for my upcoming fishing trip? One is a regular el cheapo Rapala 420J I think and the other is a Sanelli (similar to Victorinox).

Here's what I have available:

Gesshin 400,2k, 8k, Takashima Awasedo
Bester 1K, Rika 5k
Arkansas soft & surgical black
Balsa strops with 1micron and .25 micron diamond spray

I'm thinking 400, 1k and that's it...any point in going for more polish on these? I'm going to use the little rapala v shaped ceramic hone to keep them straight unless you think it's worth dragging the Idahone camping...

Thoughts?

For my roommates victorinox I sharpen it with my JNS 300 then JNS 1000 then some stropping on a medium fine natural.

I would do the G400 and G2K just cause I like the G2K better than Bestor.

For my trips to hunt camp I frequently only take a DMT duo diamond plate.
