You most likely have, just not while you were aware of it. It's the main sugar crop after sugar cane, but it's always used in refined form. So anytime you're eating any white refined sugar you don't really know whether the sugar in there came from sugar cane or sugar beet.I've not gotten to beet sugar yet.

my mother was a Splenda user. For hot tea (always English Breakfast), not coffee. Never left home without it. Always had a dozen packets in her purse. I don’t know how anyone drinks artificial sweetener. Equal, Splenda, S&L, all super gross.
