Mizu honyaki tamahagane knife? How come these knives aren't more famous? Anyone have any experience? Jon where are you?
 
Well … I guess you’re not likely to find a rack of them at C&M. In some ways that’s probably a very reasonable price.

Im inclined to agree.

that said, tamahagane is sword steel, and a sword is not a kitchen knife and a kitchen knife is not a sword, so spending that kind of money on a somewhat rustically finished knife wouldnt be worth it to me personally.

I think it's super cool he's continuing the tradition it's just that the tradition doesnt mean enough to me to justify the ask. at that price, Im more interested in other knives unfortunately.
