    it was from ebay, kind of a homebrew offering. pid conroller run, relay and thermocouple i got something like this but without the ramp/soak programming, i just do it manually...

    i hollowed out one 1/4 board for the cavity then planed down another 1/4 board to 1/8 for the "cap" used a single bevel carving knife( scraps from my fist batch) as a sort of chisel, a proper chisel would have been a lot faster, it was pretty straightforward though, the poplar is regular and...

    cheers built my platen around the scrap aluminum i had, grabbed some scrap steel and fitted it together with two skate belts as a guide for my dimensions. only thing i wasn't able to hack together was the drive wheel. first welding project, not the prettiest beads but it's solid.

    been taking sh!t for this one for years..... so my hands are masserated for working the cold side all week, grab a carrot and the mandolin. Is it he blade that gets me? no no no. the carrot had the slighted bit of grit on the skin and cut me under my fingernail. ... a carrot....

    that fish spat always made laugh. found it without a handle under one of the stoves. some scrap pieces later and it was ready to go. the spatula itself has since snapped but i still have the handle somewhere. And hell yes on the blackwood. I swear it tools and chips just like aluminum
