Replacement for the Fujiwara Teruyasu Chinese Cleaver that was unfortunately stolen in a bag of my things:

I am hoping that someone just took the bag by accident and will hand it back in at some point, but it seems unlikely. The thing that annoys me the most is that anyone who finds the knife will probably have no idea what it is and just sell it at a pawn shop or on craigslist for like $20...

So the stamped kanji on my new TF cleaver appears to be rusting. I presume this means the kanji is stamped deep enough to get into the carbon steel in the core? Is this a problem? And is there any good way to prevent this rusting further.

Can't really comment on the over grind issue since I only just got mine and don't have enough experience (though visual inspection doesn't show up anything I can see). But the Nashiji I got made extra thin was only 40,000 yen (same price as on the website), I didn't want any other changes though...

In the cleaver's handle? They don't appear to be brass, they are a shiny silver colour like polished stainless.
