So I can't believe this but my brand new Fujiwara Teruyasu custom cleaver was in my bag which went missing from a coach between Ithaca and NYC earlier this week (see the knife about halfway down here: http://www.kitchenknifeforums.com/showthread.php/7655-Show-your-newest-knife-buy/page980).

I'm just posting here on the very off chance that someone sees the knife for sale somewhere. If you do please let me know (I have reported it to the police and have receipts to prove it is mine so I might actually be able to get it back).

Luckily I have travel insurance which should cover the cost, but its still annoying. Thanks.

Damn! That's sucks. My thoughts and prayers are with your TF cleaver. Hopefully you get it back unharmed

I am hoping that someone just took the bag by accident and will hand it back in at some point, but it seems unlikely. The thing that annoys me the most is that anyone who finds the knife will probably have no idea what it is and just sell it at a pawn shop or on craigslist for like $20...

That was exactly my thought when my old trusty chukabocho sprouted legs and walked out of my station one night. That KU finish and overall rough look certainly didn't make anyone piss themselves with joy. the first time they used it i am sure it was left wet and would begin to rust, which meant it would then not get any respect at all after that. good luck.
