Which handle on which blade?
Handles 10-26-17.jpg

I like the bottom pairing but switch the other 2

I think the darkest handle could go with the kiritsuke.

This thread is great. ;) more MORE!

Thanks guys. I really appreciate opinions. It's a hobby for me.

I would flip flop the bottom two. But really, they all look nice, could live with any combination.

I think I'm seeing some lacewood/leopardwood on those top two handles, right? What are the other woods? Did you make these?

I've been looking at handles like these a bit recently, as I'd like to make some of my own and like the two-wood look you have going on. I think the general impression of what I personally find attractive is that the handle should roughly alternate with the knife color. So, for the top knife, I'd tend toward a light wood handle, dark wood ferrule, and then the light blade metal. The bottom two would be the opposite (dark wood handle, light wood ferrule, dark blade metal). So, perhaps switch the top and middle ones? I'd have to see it to know if I preferred it.

Regardless, those all look awesome and you can't go wrong with any combo.

I would switch the bottom 2- the Damascus pattern on knife #2 would stand out against a simpler dark handle. The vertical bars on handle #2 would look good against a simpler blade pattern.

What a great set!

From the top down. Snakewood handle and lacewood ferrule.

Leopardwood handle and Greybox Burl ferrule.

Black Nagusta Burl handle, G-10 spacer and greybox burl ferrule.

I'd forego aesthetics and match them based upon balance and performance.
