Custom maker etiquette

There is a thread on what one should do and should not do when custom Ordering from a maker. I cant seem to find it though. Searches on the forum draw up nothing.
Can any kind soul give me the link if they found it or know what im talking about? I believe Dave Martell started the thread. IINW
