I collect hobbies like my mom collects speeding tickets. My latest one is making wa handles. Never done any kind of woodworking before this so it's definitely been a learning experience. Having a great time so far. Figured I'd make a post to consolidate my handles so I can refer back to them easily.

First handle went on a white #2 santoku. Sent it to my dad for Christmas.

Nice. Given your talent for this game - I very much look forward to seeing the results!

Got some Mallee burl, laced Sheoak, and Redgum in there by the look of it. What are the various others…?
Thank you! Having nice wood just makes me want to make more.

I believe here are all the various woods:

York gum
Northern york gum
Lace sheoak
Jarrah
Yorrel burl
Miniritchie
Western myall
Red morrell
Vasticola
Banksia pod
Rib fruited mallee
Marri

Ooh… which is the Western Myall? That’s a very special, and rather rare wood. It’s subtle and difficult to describe, but you’ll see what I mean when you get it. :)
