Ouka for me. But I'm finding the Indonesian batu interesting and feels great when doing a leading edge stropping motion.
 
They have been mentioned before: the NP800 and 3k. Both tactile and auditory. To a smaller extend SP2k. JNS synthetic red Aoto — if soaked.
 
All these years I've used various synthetic stones. Only natural stone was a set of medium & fine Arkansas slip stones that my father gave me. Used to sharpen ice carving chisels. Gouges, V, & flat. Also wood carving chisels.

I know that AFrames had some nice natural stones softer & harder. Maybe I'll go to his shop in China market. The nice ones are pretty expensive esp. the harder stones.
