Just wanted to share that the man himself commented on an Instagram post I made on my 180mm. I noticed on his page some pics of damascus blades that aren’t available in the US. It would be cool to see him making a wider variety of styles with different steels.

Only thing I can confirm is that this SG2 is still the goat in my collection...

Tadokoro SG2 feels very similar, one of the harder SG2 to raise a burr, maybe they got from the same Sakai source

When I was talking to Michiko at Tadokoro she says they get their SG2 from Nakagawa which would be interesting, never seen a nakagawa branded sg2 knife, but maybe he does OEM work for others
