I just finished this one yesterday.

I decided to use 1095 and hardened it to 60 HRC. It’s about 1.9mm the at thickness part of the spine and roughly 115mm in length. The handle is African Blackwood and Black Palm. Sharpened to 6k. It cuts extremely well!

Ooh, is the black palm stabilized? I keep trying to use it but it keeps splintering and cracking on me.

It's not stabilized, but didn't notice any issues with splintering or cracking.

I ended up doing a CA finish to fill any voids before buffing.
