Would this be large enough? Is this one okay or should I go with one of the ginpo models?

Think it depends on how much you eat. Here's a general donabe size guide from the Just One Cookbook site:
  • No. 5 (5号, 5-go)—1 person; 6 inches or 14–16 cm in diameter
  • No. 6 (6号, 6-go)—1–2 person; 7.5 inches or 17–19 cm in diameter
  • No. 7 (7号, 7-go)—2–3 people; 8.7 inches or 20–22 cm in diameter
  • No. 8 (8号, 8-go)—3–4 people; 9.4 inches or 23–25 cm in diameter
  • No. 9 (9号, 9-go)—4–5 people; 10.6 inches or 26–28 cm in diameter
  • No. 10 (10号, 10-go)—5–6 people; 12 inches or 29–31 cm in diameter

The dinnerware at MTC is fetching. I bought some ramen bowls when I bought my Yoshimi Kato AO Super Gyuto.
It's totally worth a trip from NJ.

Then again, this is pretty sexy. Not suggesting that it'll replace any of your fine knives, but it could become a the "gorgeous stainless knife with the purple handle" for everyone else in the household (if you've got other cooks in your kitchen.)
