    'Tall' Bunka (50mm+)

Ah well, the Blenheim Forge Santoku was not to be... Beautifully made knife and looks fantastic, but in the end the controlled effortless glide of the laser (Kotestu) won me over, by a fair margin. It comes down to personal taste I suppose and if you didn't have the two side by side maybe the...

The copper ferrule is a favourite part of the knife. It provides more closure and is almost a half way house to the western handle Very comfortable, nimble & confident in a pich grip Its handle is 6.5" long!

Thanks for the reply. It's not heft I'm after, I just don't want a laser, which I have now in the Kotesku (brilliant knife). It's a compliment to it I really like the look of the Mazaki Eitan's pic above is awesome :-)

    Blenheim Forge

Thanks - nice knife for sure. 'mid-weight' don't need to stress about it too much, sharpens easily, and looks good :-) Another reason to try their Santoku (which is here tomorrow :-))

    'Tall' Bunka (50mm+)

Going custom is something I hadn't considered I have to say - I suppose it's always seemed expensive. As knife experience grows and I am seeing what I ultimately prefer, it makes more and more sense. I think I can see a custom Bunka in the not too distant future :-) Cheers

    'Tall' Bunka (50mm+)

Thanks for the reply - I have Blenheim Forge's 'gyuto' and enjoy it very much. Yes, it is mid-weight which I am after in the next knife Here is my review of Blenheim's knife:https://www.kitchenknifeforums.com/threads/blenheim-forge.35219/ I have just ordered their Santoku. Thanks for your replies I'm after a carbon blade, so some of those options are out, and the Takeda... isn't that more cleaver than Bunka :-)

    'Tall' Bunka (50mm+)

Hi Simon - I did look on Cleancut's site and they have some possibilities, although, to me, they are unknown quantities - can you speak for any of them? There's a Dao Vua (I haven't come across this one before) which may not be quite tall enough...
