Majime lost my business for life

Holy hell! He's a bit crazy, isn't he? The video was actually pretty damn entertaining, thanks.

Majime lost my business for life

I just did a Google search on this guy, is he for real or what? Soldier of fortune, WWIII veteran, and an x-member of the A-Team. 😂😭🤡

I take it he was worried about the competition. You must make some nice knives.

    Appreciate the advice, thank you.

    Some Stones...

Hey Cotedupy, Can you use water with the Welsh novaculites rather then oil, and would one give you a better edge (in regards to comfort) then the other? I've yet to use any novaculite stones yet (Black Arks, etc.), but I'm assuming water can be used over oil if the user so chooses.

    Some Stones...

I was thinking that Vermont slate from reading your description, but it doesn't really look like what I've seen from Vermont. Could it be some type of razor stone, and where did you pick it up at?

Just a thread of my work

Maybe just break the corner of the heel a little bit, rather then what you were doing? I guess the best thing to do is ask your customer base what they like. Murray Carter just breaks the corner slightly: Carter Safety Heel (fourth pic down) Nice work and thanks for answering my question.

When your wife gets ahold of your cast iron skillet...

Like any other woman, she might not be able to turn water into wine, but she'll have you drinking copious amounts of wine in no time at all.

When your wife gets ahold of your cast iron skillet...

The reason I asked is because I wasn't sure about whether or not soap would effect the seasoning of the pan. Thanks.

When your wife gets ahold of your cast iron skillet...

What is the correct procedure for cleaning cast iron? Very hot water, dry, then lightly oiled? Or should a mild soap be used?

Why is Mikawa Nagura so expensive?

Hey Eric, While I would generally agree, Yasuko from Japan Avenue is a pretty excellent seller. The info you see on her stones are provided to her by the wholesalers, so I wouldn't always say it's the gospel truth, but she's a trustworthy vendor. If there's a problem she'll work it out with...

Why is Mikawa Nagura so expensive?

There are a few places I've bought nagura from, and they were real but the stones were smaller (though they arrived at my house from Japan in four days after ordering). With Sakamoto, you're getting much more for your money even with shipping included. You also know you're getting genuine Asano...

Why is Mikawa Nagura so expensive?

This is Sakamoto's store in Japan. He's the holder of all the red Asano stamps. He knew Iwasaki and his father was part of the venture to start grading nagura stones back in the late 50's and early 60's in Japan. This is the best place to by nagura stones on the Internet. I've bought a few...
