    Free-Hand cheap stainless scissors

Well, yes, I love these kind of videos too. No ******** talking and talking. Why not straight into action.. People just like filming themselves and not really showing the item being talked about

    Free-Hand cheap stainless scissors

The original bevel is too thick, impossible to get a razor micro bevel. Have to thin it down, and yes, much easier to sharpen later on.

    Sharpened Cheap Stainless knives :)

I got these from my mechanic father who worked for Suzuki company, probably made during 1980's, don't think they are available anymore. Aluminum Oxide, probably the same material as those from Spyderco. I only got 3 pieces, highly valuable to me!

    Sharpened Cheap Stainless knives :)

Very nice Made in Japan finishing stone, the grit is listed as No.4, but feels like in between medium and fine stone. Cheap stainless becomes aggressively sharp after getting a microbevel with this baby. I use soap water as lubricant instead of oil.

    Cleaver Sharpening Question

Before using Vincent's method, I went through a lot of hard times sharpening cleavers. After trying his hand switching method, it made life much easier, especially if the cleaver is very heavy. I sharpen axe using his method too. Works well for me.

kIWI knife still cutting well after six years

KIWI knives, here in Malaysia, you will see it all over the place. I have a few kiwi knives that's over 10 years, one broke off from the handle due to rust inside the handle. I've sharpened a few different knives from this brand, some get a better edge, some a just crap, inconsistent quality...

Carbon Steel vs Stainless steel Lavine says

The wild boar hunters over here do everything with machetes, you got a problem with that? That conflicts with your opinion again? And, would you stop that childish 'coconut' behaviour already? You love killing coconuts? Still trying to pick fights with every single chance you got? Wait.., I...

Carbon Steel vs Stainless steel Lavine says

Put a 360mm Yanagiba in the middle of all the kitchen knives and see if any one reacts to it.:knife: I think size matters there. I don't get the point of "tactical" knives. You want to chop wood/tree, a small axe does the job better, clearing a bush, a machete does way better, and they are...

    Honyaki vs Monosteel

You are totally right about that.

    Mounting stones at an angle

I suppose one can maintain a very consistent angle throughout the whole length of the blade with such setup without the use of angle guides. Ancient Chinese swordsmiths sharpened swords like this too, same with samurai swords.

    Shimantani Deba

@Tall Dark and Swarfy, It's hard to have control over something handmade, the Blue#2 Shimatani Yanagiba I got here is quite well finished on the choil area(the backside), no tool marks at all. I think he is the forger, the grinder and also the sharpener himself, 1 man factory, since the brand is...
