    Whats your most expensive hobby?

I collect street art. Have a giant wall in my loft covered with pieces...have spent way too much money then I should comfortably admit. I also used to collect adidas sneakers, but I've managed to break myself of that habit. Oh, and wine...have about 150 bottles of wine here too. So there you...

    Union Restaurant in Pasadena

I went to union on Christmas Eve for their feast of the 7 fishes dinner...despite a couple minor upsets the meal was fantastic. I definitely would recommended it for folks in the LA area. Glad to hear you enjoyed it too!

Brand new here from Los Angeles!

Yes, all original...made out of 440. I have yet to sharpen them, but they need to be sharpened...they have never been quite sharp enough. Check him out on IG: kropknives. His name is Sinan, he makes some very interesting knives in Istanbul, Turkey.

Noticing some micro chipping on a new knife, help?!

They're on the edge. Kinda all over. But only on one side of the knife, specifically the side without the kanji etching on the knife. I'll give it a sharpen and see what happens. I will report back. Thanks so much everyone.

I am! I have a set of shapton stones at home, I suppose I should give it a shot on those and see how it goes.

Hey all! I'm new here, so forgive me if this has been discussed a bunch...I just started using a brand new takamura R2 gyuto this week at work. It's been two days. I only use it on a boos block, and have been working with kind to Japanese knife ingredients...nothing crazy hard that might be...
