    Here in VA we have a similar spider. It's a type of orb spider and our local name for it is writing spider. I don't think ours gets quite as big as yours.

    @rickburn - If you read the article, it sez homemade is better, but you can use a store bought corned beef if you don't want to spend the time and effort to make your own.

    If you can;t get them cut into slabs very soon, the ends should be sealed with Anchor Seal. That will help with the checking.

    A turkey breast because there's just the two of us, and I don't really care for turkey, (I eat it once a year at Thanksgiving.) Smoked in my kettle for about two hours. My wife thought it turned out great while I thought... turkey again. I just had it last year. ;)

    My regular white sandwich bread bake. I double the recipe and make rolls too. The rolls are normally gifted to friends or relatives. I'd like to bake more artisan style breads, but my wife thinks white bread is unhealthy, and I don't care for the taste of whole wheat...
