Thank you all who participated in the "want to collaborate a bit?" thread! The knife that we built through that process needs a home and it seems fitting that it should be offered back to you all. Thank you all for helping make us better knifemakers!
To recap the knife specs:
Hand-forged integral bolster board suji, walnut handle with piano key spacer from a defunct 1899 Steinway upright grand
Blade length (heel to tip): 247mm
Blade height at heel: 43mm
Total length: 397mm
Weight: 170g
Grind: Our first symmetric "S" grind. the grind is convexed for 75mm up from the edge then hollow ground up to the spine.
Taper: 3.2mm above the maker's mark tapering to 2.1mm at the midpoint and 1.3mm 3cm from the tip
Steel: O1 at HRC 62, cryogenically quenched
Balance: on the maker's mark
This knife was used at the Midwestern gathering that happened a month or so ago. We have removed any patina and freshly sharpened it.
Asking $650 CONUS but will also ship overseas if you want to contribute to the shipping. First "I want it!" gets it and we can settle up by us emailing you a Paypal invoice for it.
Best,
~Luke
