Hey guys.

I just found this awesome forum and would like to seek some advice. I am looking to upgrade my Global knife set to a single japanese santoku knife. I am willing to spend around 400-500 usd. Been looking at both Miyabi and Yoshikane, but not sure what is the better knife. Maybe there are even better knives out there I have overlooked. Would prefer the knife to be 180mm and made from damasus steel.

Any suggestions?

Hi and welcome. Post your question in the "The Kitchen Knife" section and make sure you fill in the questionnaire.

For me the Yoshikane is better than Miyabi. But you get Yoshikane in 2 steels, semi stainless and white carbon. 2 different knives from maintenance stand point.
