i made a magnetic paddle strop that has multiple stropping surfaces i glued a piece of metal to the paddle surface
for the magnets Im using Magnetic Easy Wipe Racking Tape Strips these will be mounted on the back of the stropping material
this allows me to have more than 2 stropping surfaces for the strop and future strops made in the same way to the same dimensions which will be interchangeable.
strop dimensions:
length: including handle 381mm/15"
stropping surface (L x W): 305mm/12" x 70mm/2.7"
possible stropping surfaces/materials:
leather Hyde side 3mm
leather backside roughly polished with dc8 diamond plate 3mm
linen material 1mm multi - laid 3mm
thick linen material 2mm
denim 2mm
hard wool felt 3mm
plus much more
stropping materials adhesive used contact cement or epoxy resin and hardener.
