I very nearly asked for that same grind from Tony, but it made me nervous. I was worried it would wedge and crack in taller denser produce. How's it been for you?

Now that is cool. How does that assymetric compound p-grind work in practice? A very interesting idea.
So I put it through a couple of big carrots the other day. Smooth as butter, silent killa. I can’t think of anything it hasn’t performed well on.

Used a Chinese spatula Tonlage food today, a cheap Dengjia:

That’s a baddy right there. Looks awesome. You a cleaver guy?
Thanks.
Apparently so since March just seems like any other month to me.

Not even sure how this happened. One minute I am talking to Oli @cotedupy on a razor forum about his Shibata Tinker Tank. The next thing I know he hooks me up with @tostadas and they just multiply. 🤣

Negligently failed to picture the rectangles, but here's tonight's like Cantonese American takeout style spread, all from one of Kenji's cookbooks. Beef chow mein, velveted chicken with snap peas and lemon, soy glazed mushrooms, bok choy. Cooked at a buddy's house while visiting in Seattle.

Omg, that spread looks INCREDIBLE.

Still visiting home/friends in Seattle. Got to put together a nice middle eastern spread at the same buddy's house where we cooked up come Chinese food last night. This time it's grilled chicken shawarma with various salads and condiments (cucumber salad, hummus, baba, tzatziki, chili garlic sauce, etc.), turmeric rice, olives, feta, grilled zaatar onion, and pita.

Special appearance by the moritaka nakiri I picked up from @OyakoDont . Thanks, Ryan! This knife is a lot of fun.

Nothing like family, childhood friends, and good food.

This one has helped me through the second half of ARM. Denka 165mm Nakiri.

It is the last of the 165 Nakiris I kept, usually they are too small for me. This one is, too. But it is a very nice specimen of Denka. Completely straight, very thin yet stiff. Grind is super lazy of course, but it works. The yellow stains are from fresh turmeric roots, those have a residue that is hyper sticky... looks wild, but works fine.

It still might end up on BST sooner or later...

I was browsing for used blades online, when I stumbled upon this one.
Early Sugimoto No. 1 (or Kiya?).
Does it even qualify as a rectangle? Seems more like a mezzaluna to me!View attachment 311683

APPROVED!

The power of ARM. Brings out your third post in eight years!!! 👍 :dancingcow:

Tsubaya Tanegashima blue steel cleaver thinned by @kpham12 , originally it’s bit wabisabi cleaver you would expect at the price range, but Kevin turned it into a work beast

+1 for Kevin's talent for thinning cleavers. I can't tell you how good the Sugi #6 is that I picked up from him.

In fact, reading your post inspired me to bring out the cleaver this morning for breakfast burritos!

I thought you all would get a kick out of this.

Two nights ago I woke up in a half asleep delirious state while our baby was being checked on. In the morning my wife told me I was mumbling nonsense about rectangles, trying to buy rectangles, and rectangle march… I’ve binged this thread over the past week.
