Time for a new one. What do people like?

Enjoyed the cited discussion back then. What happened to Juice?

Bamix is my choice, it's still going strong. It's a nice looking, high end, household unit that I've had in a couple pro kitchens where it acquired itself well.

Waring makes an affordable pro unit that's ugly as sin. But it works all day. Most pro kitchens I've worked in have a Waring.

You can spend more or you can spend less than these two but I don't think you'll find more bang for your buck.

@daveb this bad Larry right here?

That with the 10" shaft is a frequent choice (restaurant pots are deeper than home pots). Have used their heavy duty stuff as well - bigger than is comfortable.

Loving my Bamix. They get good results, don't get get hot, and they last. My version has a coil wire which is awesome - but not all their models have that feature.

In the 'professional but fugly' category there's also dynamix to consider.

Check the US Foods Chefs store. They’ve got a couple decent sizes

We really like our Kitchen Aid stick blender. Variable speed and plenty of power.
