I seem to recall a phone book set up by Matteo too but can't find it either. I've even passed on the idea to friends without knife blocks. Found some similar posts though.

I love having them readily available.
Every one of these knives feels perfect for the task at hand when I pick them up.
The Bunka gets a lot more love than the Miyabi Chef's knife..I may swap it out at some point.

Holy Cow Fred! This is freaking amazing. You need to sell me some of those.
That picture was taken some time last year. Actually. 10 of them are already residing in new homes. Since then. I built another one that holds 12 knives. Every slot on both racks is full.
And I have 3 down in the shop I am working on...
And my work bag is full...

Although, the knives that overflowed into my dresser drawers and the boxes in my closet will probably fill that one up too....
Was planning on keeping this rack for a while even though it's basic and the magnets aren't strong enough to hold the knives upright without spinning.

Are there magnets in the verticals?
I did make it. Yes, each post on the blade side bar has a magnet that is strong enough to offer a little hold on the blade through the wood of the saya. I put a little piece of cork on top of the magnet to protect naked blades.
Brilliant - you should defiantly consider making them and sending out as flat-pack build-your-self. It worked for Ikea :0

They are Takada no Hamono probably from his Reika line (or at least #3 probably is)
Takada no Hamono, both Tanaka:
2: Hanabi Suiboku, blue 1
3: Reika Suiboku, blue 1
There is a Suiboku line, a Hanabi and Reika. These here are combined versions.
Finally got a small rack to clean out a few from the drawer. Only squares and a petty, but for having low cabinets, it's still better than nothing.

That is sweet looking.
Here’s my current setup, though too many knives are still in boxes in a closet. Strip is 48” walnut by MOC Woodworks. Smaller one is homemade with maple.
