Necessity is the mother of invention. I like the design and can easily see that transformed into a wooden rack. Here's my makeshift knifestand in cardboard! Works well enough until I build something slightly more elegant..

I seem to recall a phone book set up by Matteo too but can't find it either. I've even passed on the idea to friends without knife blocks. Found some similar posts though. My favorite rack will forever be Matteo’s duct taped phone books with like 50 knives stuffed into them. God I wish I could find a photo of that.
I know it s not a knife but it s really cool.
This is my new knives block.
Made of old cookery book, can hold up to 25 knives and it cost me 10 dollars.
I bought the books from a second hand shop.

I seem to remember some pictures from that old knife group-chat we were all in. Must have been 4+ years ago at this point. But yeah- that’s it!! I mean there’s gotta be 50 knives in thereI seem to recall a phone book set up by Matteo too but can't find it either. I've even passed on the idea to friends without knife blocks. Using old cook books... utilitarian and inspirational!

That picture was taken some time last year. Actually. 10 of them are already residing in new homes. Since then. I built another one that holds 12 knives. Every slot on both racks is full.Holy Cow Fred! This is freaking amazing. You need to sell me some of those.
Not enough knife racks and bags?I might have a problem
Down to the shop I go to fashion another, bigger rack! Not enough knife racks and bags?
Down to the shop I go to fashion another, bigger rack! And then 5 more.
Although, the knives that overflowed into my dresser drawers and the boxes in my closet will probably fill that one up too....
Did you make this?I know I have posted this in the other thread, but I am really proud of it....

I did make it. Yes, each post on the blade side bar has a magnet that is strong enough to offer a little hold on the blade through the wood of the saya. I put a little piece of cork on top of the magnet to protect naked blades.Did you make this?
Are there magnets in the verticals?
Brilliant - you should defiantly consider making them and sending out as flat-pack build-your-self. It worked for Ikea :0Here's my makeshift knifestand in cardboard! Works well enough until I build something slightly more elegant..
