Thanks mate. I got all the stones. I have never bought a knife before where you may communicate with the shop before production. I welcome all points of view from the kkf community. It's not a cheap knife and it seems there is equally a lot of interest caution.

It has occurred to me that my knife will not be as sharp again now that it must be thinned. I don't think we civilians can achieve a blade as thin once we have to address the year or so of thickening as we don't have a wheel. Is this acknowledged when we buy these knives that are uber sharp...

Yes I appreciate that may be rude. I just want as extreme cutter(hard geometry etc) as practical, at the expense of durability. Am I even looking at the right knife then?

Think I'd rather go thinner not just thin behind the edge. Now that my Yoshikane has worn down a few years I don't enjoy it much. I've thinned it but I guess my taste are more towards the laser. I do want a knife with a shinogi line still to make thinning more straight forward.
