So I have set my eyes on a particular knife and I’m going to need funds for it, it hurts me to be doing this but I can’t pass on my unicorn. So for you today I have some knives from my collection that are in brand new untouched condition, there is a coating on the Honyaki to help protect them from the elements and it is in the pictures, that’s the spots and lines in some of the pictures. So here is what I have for you:

Hitohira Shiraki x Yohei Shirogami Honyaki 240mm Gyuto w/ Taihei Ebony Handle, I would like $1150

Hitohira Kikuchiyo x Kambei Aogami #2 Mizu Honyaki Wide Double Bevel 240mm Kiritsuke Gyuto w/ Taihei Ebony Handle. I would like 1400 for this, and Kambei is retired so these will increase in value with time

Jiro #88 White #1 270mm Gyuto - No handle, I’m asking $700

Jiro #108 White #1 180mm Gyuto (but it’s honestly a santoku if you look) with Tagayasan And Blonde Horn Handle, I’m asking $450

Worth mentioning: the gyuto #108 from Jiro is the only one I know which came with blonde ferrule - also choil shot looks dope dope dope, and the Honyaki gyuto is made by Kenichi Shiraki and not by Shiraki Hamono with the supervision of Kenichi.
For some reason these guys like their gyutos very short at the heel at 45mm ish, which is a real deal breaker for me, otherwise I would have snagged this one already.

Just wondering how you know that the Honyaki was forged by Kenichi Shiraki and not by his Hamono under his supervision. Obviously it does make a difference if one is a collector.

He provides a link to the source and the website the link leads to states the name of the smith. So you are trusting the reputation of his source.

Thank you Friz, and there are markings on the tang with Shiraki signature on it, and it was said by Hitohira the Distributor the knife was made for
