Sale price includes PP G&S fees.

For buyers interested in fee-free payment methods, I’ll offer the knives at the discounted trade value shown above.

Either way, fully insured/tracked CONUS shipping is included. I’ve shipped internationally and can cover the first $15 for international buyers; PM and we can discuss.

Mainly looking to sell, but would be very interested in trading for knives listed in the spoiler below (fairly specific as I'm looking to narrow down my collection):

  • Gesshin Heiji semi-stainless 210 suji (only the JKI version, not direct from Heiji)
  • A nice stainless/semi-stainless/low reactivity 160-180 yo petty/short suji/baby gyuto. I'd love to find a Konosuke SKD 180 petty or something by Shi.Han/Tsourkan/Dalman/HSC/etc
  • Migoto ginsan 240 gyuto
  • Spåre bread sword
  • Xerxes UF/Laser 210-270 😉

These are already rock bottom prices, but I'll reduce pricing by $10 per knife to account for postage savings if someone is buying multiple pieces.

Mazaki 270 White 2 Sujihiki

Trade value (discounted sale price if fee-free): $160 / Sale price: $190

Blacksmith/Sharpener: Naoki Mazaki
Steel: White 2/Iron clad migaki
Edge Length: 275mm
Heel Height: 42mm
Thickness of spine at handle / heel / midpoint / 1cm from tip: 5.4mm / 4.6mm / 2.3mm / 0.6mm
Weight: 213g
Handle: Keyaki and black horn
Purchased from Stx00lax: WTS - Mazaki 270 (w2) sujihiki
More info: Mazaki White#2 Kasumi Sujihiki 270mm

Very lightly used – slight patina. Original edge – never sharpened or stropped. Will be shipped in a knife box (not original box).

A couple of things to note: 1) Almost immediately after getting it, I managed to chip it slicing a bone-in jamon serrano leg. (An absolutely terrible choice of knife for this task BTW.) The chip is ~3mm long and ~1mm tall. I put it away out of shame after chipping it, and haven't touched it since. 2) The horn ferrule was cracked when I purchased it. The seller gave me a very generous make-good for the damaged handle, which is reflected in my pricing. See photos/video for documentation of both issues.

It'd be harsh to describe this as a project knife since it's so lightly used, but I've priced it at a steal (more than 50% off retail) for anyone who wants to fix it up. Jacob, if you're reading this, I'm sorry! 😭

Nigara SG2 Tsuchime 245 Sujihiki

Trade value (discounted sale price if fee-free): $150 / Sale price: $175

Blacksmith/Sharpener: Nigara Hamono/Tsuyoshi Yoshizawa
Steel: SG2/Stainless clad tsuchime migaki
Edge Length: 244mm
Heel Height: 38.5mm
Thickness of spine at handle / heel / midpoint / 1cm from tip: 2.21mm / 2mm / 1.9mm / 0.43mm
Weight: 179g
Handle: Ebony and marbled horn
Purchased from Homebutcher (first owner): Nigara Hamono 245mm Sg2 Migaki Kiriitsuke Sujihiki

Like-new condition. Original edge – never sharpened or stropped. Will be shipped in a knife box (not original box). F&F is remarkable for the (Homebutcher) price point. One of the sleekest ebony/horn handles I've seen.

Yoake B1 KU 210 k-tip gyuto

Trade value (discounted sale price if fee-free): $150 / Sale price: $175

Blacksmith/Sharpener: ???
Steel: Blue 1/Iron clad kurouchi
Edge Length: 221mm
Heel Height: 51mm
Thickness of spine at handle / heel / midpoint / 1cm from tip: 7.17mm / 5.38mm / 2.69mm / 1.06mm
Weight: 259g
Handle: Redwood and ebony ferrule (not 100% sure)
Purchased from Homebutcher (first owner): Hatsukokoro Yoake (Dawn) 210mm Blue#1 Kiritsuke

Like-new condition. Original edge – never sharpened or stropped. Will be shipped in a knife box (not original box). Yoake's notoriously rustic F&F and kurouchi are fully evident, but the grind is clean (albeit a little thick BTE) and cuts well OOTB.

Matsubara B2 Tsuchime 165 Nakiri

Blacksmith/Sharpener: Katsuto Tanaka
Steel: Blue 2/Stainless clad tsuchime

Thickness of spine at handle / heel / midpoint / 1cm from tip: 3.5mm / 2.6mm / 1.7mm / 1.1mm
Weight: 164g
Handle: Walnut and dyed maple ferrule
Purchased from ModRQC: Withdrawn - Bin Sale: Bunch of knives, cumulative rebates, special combo offer.
More info: Matsubara Hamono Blue 2 Tsuchime Nakiri 165mm

Used and sharpened. Never thinned. Includes original packaging. Great performance, height, and F&F for the price.

Damn. Wish I'd seen this sooner. If that Mazaki petty falls through let me know.
