Looks like I'm going to start traveling a good bit for work, most of it involving leaving on a jet plane....

I usually carry light, 4 knives and some tools in JKI's portfolio or one of the Ultimate Edge bags. But what to carry the knife bag in?

Thinking of things like a good backpack or even hard side luggage. Goal is to be baggage handler proof.

Any thots, experience, suggestions welcome.

I used to travel a ton, I have a few thoughts I can share… first things first, I always traveled super light, never more than 3-4 knives, couple spoons, cake tester, flat spat. I always used Darkhardt Asphyx medium or the Phyx, Tokyo style roll up so I could tighten the bundle as compactly as possible- about the size of a thin bottle of wine. Then I essentially bury it on the spine side of my checked bag pinched between layers of clothing. It’s the best way I’ve found unless you’re traveling charter/private. I actually why I settled on smaller knives tbh. Not sure if that helps or not, but I wish you luck on your new endeavors!

No, but I've thot about that.
If you do, I'd put the knives with the firearm. They'll get the same treatment during travel. Gregmega's suggestion is great also, especially packing the knives on the spine of the suitcase.
