I'm going to sell a pretty rare set of Ashi Honyaki. They are a matched 150mm petty and 210mm gyuto. The set is new, in box, and unused. Original lacquer still in place. They are new old stock that I was able to secure directly from a store where they were on display in Japan. I am original owner post-store sale. I'd really like to keep the set together given their provenance, but could consider an individual sale if someone really wanted just one.
I'm asking $4,500 for both knives, about $1,100 under what I paid for the two, and want to move them to a good home. I love using Ashi honyaki and they are still - to me - the benchmark for the single best all around kitchen knives ever made. I ~~might~~ consider some trades to offset the cost if someone wanted; would consider some DT's, perhaps an older stock Takada AS, or select Radar, Kamon, old stock Takamura Uchi, or Kato.
