171mm x 48mm @167g.
Dirty wrought clad, nickel shim, 26c3 core.
Spalted poplar handle.
Bought 2 knives from Brook with the intention of only keeping one. I figured bringing it to the states at a reduced price would let someone else try his work. I got free shipping and $50 shaved off the top from buying both. The 225mm gyuto wearing taz backwood pants is lovely. I doubt anything beats it at its price point anytime soon. I will probably do this again next time he makes a batch of knives because it helps keep costs down and gets makers work across the ocean. Although that may be a while before he does this again....
Nice compact stiff gyuto. Should be an awesome everyday knife for small prep like if you need to just cut a few things. I used it for my salads for the week or so I used it. Was never brought to work so it is free from any marks or scratches, just has a very subtle blue patina coming in.
It was >$330 for me to buy this knife. I will lower the price even further to $250 because I want someone to try. Keeping this stateside.
