Can anyone help me identify/ID this Santoku knife (might be a cheap/fake Japanese knife)

Have a guy wanting to trade me a knife and I'm pretty sure this doesn't really look Japanese. The symbols don't look Japanese to me, but I'm not an expert...

It reads as- Hitohira ひとひら
