I don't usually alter my preferred profile but when I was asked to make a knife similar to masamoto Ks I wanted to challenge my self to make something out of my comfort zone
I have chosen hitachi blue 2 for the blade and I wanted to make a honyaki with a similar hamon to what many Sakai makers do ( gunome = zigzag pattern ) compared to my preferred Tobi yaki ( jumping hamon )
After forging and heat treating 4 knives I have gotten a blade I am quite happy with

One of the rejects
The blade after quick etch to see the hamon
For handle I wanted to go with light colours but something bit more elegant than ho wood, stabilised mallee burl and musk ox ferrule with a nickel spacer
It's slowly coming together
Instead of etching the blade dark I have used wa powders just enough to bring out the hamon
253mm at the edge , 52 mm tall , all finished , with a Guinean rosewood saya , friction fit , I hope the owner will like it as much as I did while making it
Thanks for looking ,
Mert
