Next up is a Gesshin Ajikataya (Hinoura) 240mm White #2 Kurouchi wa-Gyuto (with Saya, 2018 version).

I got the knife in November 2018, but had it ship stateside while working on some other custom projects. Fast forward to summer 2021 and it came home. But between then and now my priorities have changed a bit so I’m selling.

The knife is unused and comes with a nice Japanese friction fit saya, which was standard at the time when JKI sold them in 2018. Now they are sold without a saya and the price is $340 instead of $420. here is a link for information:

This one is is about 245x52mm and weighs 202g. There is a small scratch on the KU toward the handle (on the blade neck about half way between ferrule and choil) which is visible depending on the angle viewed at which I’ll try to capture in the pictures, but it is pretty minor.

I’m asking $340USD shipped/insured, so you basically get the saya for free.

if interested please send a PM and we can go from there. Thanks for looking!

Bump, still available.

I’m taking a package to ship soon for the Kato and Honyaki from my other BST thread, so would be happy to take this one at the same time and save additional trips to the courier / post office.

Had a few PM asking about whether the ajikatya are done by Tsukasa Hinoura (father) or Mutsumi Hinoura (son), so thought I’d post here too. The Ajikataya are sort of a collaborative effort by both.

As far as I know, the Tsukasa ones are forge welded by himself. At least that's what I could gather from reading things in Japanese. There's a new Hinoura website in English now though! hinoura.com .So maybe verification there.

that’s good to know about the hinoura website. I’m going off of info posted on several vendor websites which sell the Ajikataya. The JKI website (where I got it from) says:
Tsukasa Hinoura is the third generation of blacksmith carrying on "Ajikataya", working with his son.
