Happy to be here. I caught the sharpening bug years back and used to lurk here and on a couple other forums.

Had maintained my knives well, had others ask me to sharpen for them and started going down the rabbit hole again. Happy to see the discussions and hopefully contribute something useful here and there.

Welcome. What kinds of knives do you currently use?

I've got a couple old knives that were my grandfather's, unsure of the brand. I've been on a throwback kick, looking for older, high carbon knives with some life left in them. Depending on the knife I'll either use an India and strop, or on something nicer I like Shapton Glass for ease.

Poking around here makes me want to go full Japanese knives, natural stones etc.
